"We all know that person who removes 80% of her "beauty" with a face wipe... Do I think its possible for her to find balance in her beauty??? Of course! Finding balance takes work and attention to your behavior, thoughts, and actions. I know that people can find balance in their beauty when they take time prettying up their inside as much as they do their outside..."
BEHIND THE BRUSH
Amberly is a makeup artist, beauty blogger and personal care mentor for women of color. She shows women who are African American, Latina, Asian, Native American and Pacific Islanders how to care for their skin from the inside out. When her clients use her products and services they experience a lifetime of flawless beauty, feel better on the inside and look better on the outside. Her clients are less stressed and have mental clarity. They are able to take their careers to the next level and get the most out of life. Her clients walk away with a personal care plan of action and value themselves more. Amberly's clients understand that attention to beauty is attention to health.
Amberly is the international makeup video contest winner for Iman Cosmetics Leather and Lace contest, but she paved her way into the beauty industry as a beauty blogger for Blushing Ambers. The blog evolved into an organization that she started to help women appreciate their self-worth through the knowledge of skincare and use of creative expression. Blushing Ambers has received mentions from noted fashion photographer Nigel Barker and special comments from Jill Glaser, MakeUp First School of Makeup Artistry founder and celebrity makeup artist Tia Dantzler.
Amberly has worked on commercials and movie sets including an indie film with celebrities BernNadette Stanis (Thelma from Good Times) and Clifton Davis (Reverend Reuben Gregory from Amen). She has also done freelance work for red carpet events, proms, weddings and other special occasions.
Her experience began at the age of 16 on the set of a Crest commercial as a makeup assistant to her cousin and makeup artist, Tojuana Carter. Before then, she was introduced to makeup through community theater and high school productions. She received certification from John Casablancas Modeling and Career Center as well as one-on-one advanced training from her mentor Christa of Beauty By Christa.
